Not So Respectable Night at Respects…And It Was Awesome!

As my mother would say, “I showed my natural, black behind (ass) last night.” It’s true. I did…and I’m not ashamed. I said that I was gonna do it. I never (not always) lie.

Me, Heather and Erin went to Respectable Street’s 28th Anniversary Party last night. The Misfits were headlining. This is my favorite song by them:

Of course my main reasons for going were to : see Astari Nite play, get into some debauchery with my homegirls and drink liberal amounts of alcohol…and not necessarily in that order. I also wanted to see what the South Florida Indie Music Scene had to offer. Apparently there’s more out there than I could’ve imagined.

For a night like last night, it was mandatory that we bring Resurrection Joe, our party flask. It had to happen. We were fortunate that Hurricane Erica decided to skip right on by us. What better reason to celebrate?

Talk about wasted. They say a picture says a thousand words. What do these pictures say? You know what…I’m not even posting these pictures. I have a reputation to protect. As Bane would say, ” You just have to imagine the fire.”

But I will say this before I have to log off and get some sleep. Astari Nite was AMAZING. We danced and swayed along to their darkwave beat. I was drunk of my arse and having a good time of it. We emptied Joe of his load in a corner surrounded by friends and a video of a German chick eating a roasted chicken. All in all, it was a great night.

Alcohol, Anyone?

In the immortal words of my cousin Pookie “I’m bout to get f*cked up this weekend.” I deserve a drink. I deserve several drinks. Hell. I deserve to swim in a sea of whiskey infused beer.

I’m gonna be Peter Griffin at the Pawtucket Brewery.
I’m gonna be Homer Simpson off duty.

I’m gonna be right back. (faint chuckle)

Ok. So it’s a few hours later and there’s a storm brewing. Get it?  Brewing.

There’s a hurricane out there somewhere throwing everyone into a tizzy. I’ve had a glass of red wine. It’s cheaper than Prozac and you don’t need a prescription.

It’s been an INTENSE few days, eh?

Doreen says it’s because of the Full Moon. I’m apparently sensitive to Moon Energy.

She also says to stay positive and focus on the good. Focus on the things I want. Stay optimistic. That sounds like a lot more fun that angst and worry.

On an up note, I’ve been painting up a storm  today.

Is that why it’s raining?

Like Erykah Says, “What A Day. What A Day.”

I got some news today. Not really sure how to take it. My school lost enrollment so…as of next week, I may no longer have a class. Again.

Le sigh.

The Good News is that the school administrators are cool. The principal called me into her office and let me know the situation. She said that I may want to apply to other schools for a full time position but they’ll keep me on as a specialist, with substitute teacher pay, if I’d like to stay. There may be an increase in enrollment after Labor Day.

Should I be praying for enrollment?

I’m disappointed but my horoscope and Doreen Virtue both say to stay positive. I am. I’ve  decided that what Goddess has for me, no one can take away. Somehow this situation is still my Blessing.

Pray for me though. One can never have too much prayer.
