‘Round Midnight

It’s after midnight and I’m finally wrapping up my work for the day. I have more to do once I get to work tomorrow but it’ll be fine. My days are so full now. I usually get home around five-thirty. Gotta get used to this 7 to 5 schedule. I love it though. I am  loving my career.

On the flip side though, I want to read and write more. I’ve missed checking in on my friends’ blogs. Scheduling more time for enjoyment reading has become a priority. I’ve managed to snatch a few moments to research and work on my novel. Being able to at least do that has been comforting.

So, of course it’s time to hit the hay. I feel like my day just began! It’s cool though. I am Happy, Grateful and I Love what I do. More people should love their jobs. I’m flinging Love and Light out into the Universe for us all.

MAGIC.

The day began like any other. I woke up. Made coffee. Did laundry…but…

The closer it got to showtime, the weirder things began to get.

When I got to the gallery, I was kinda hungry and so were Monique and Wendy. We decided on Mickey D’s for three reasons. It was close. It was cheap. It was easy. How typically American.

Of course I confused the sh*t out of the order taker girl. Of course my food wasn’t in the bag and I was holding a receipt. Wendy volunteered to help me go back and navigate the situation. I’m so glad she did. I almost drove off again lacking a crucial element. Lemonade.

I told Wendy about how my PMS energy has been intense. I was loopy on estrogen…or so I thought. Later that evening, it all became clear but for now let me stick to the timeline.

So we go back and get busy finessing a couple of details. I set up my installation, which came out GREAT, and helped out. When the time for The Fall was nigh, I changed into a dress and put on some war paint aka makeup. My look? The Stepford who escaped.

OMG. When I say that the energy was potent. Viscous and throbbing with promise. There’s something about talented women with passion, all coming together to create as well as destroy. The Fall is one of my favorite life experiences so far. There’s already talk of doing more.

First Glitch in the Matrix. Someone I used to date came in and surprised the shinola out of me. Wendy asked if I’d thought about her recently. I might have, now that I think about it. The energy that her and her friend brought to me was a little jarring, to say the least. I chickened out and pulled a disappearing act. It’s one of my talents. I’m famous for the “I’ll be right back” and drive away. I didn’t drive though. I just went outside and hung out with some friends. We talked art. That was more fun.

In fact, let me reroute. I almost erased the above paragraph because it can be perceived as negative. So here’s some sage. No more of that!

What’s really cool is that Heather’s new man friend is the man who bought Everybody Loves The Sunshine with his ex girlfriend.  When I met him, he told me that he’d just pack them up that day because she was moving out. I was so glad that the two paintings are together. In my opinion, he seems like a really nice guy. I’m happy for Heather. Providence was one of the words I imagine when I think about that conversation.

I have so much more I want to say but there’s papers to grade and lessons to plan. This is what I’ve been working so hard to manifest and it’s here. Gratitude and staying on top of things is the way to go.

The Fall was Immaculate in it’s conception and a Glorious feeling was born in me. I feel like so much more is happening that I don’t know how to articulate at this moment. All is that I’m excited and ready for it all.

Me, Heather and Steve.

It’s About That TIme To Get Ill!

It’s been a long week…and I’m Grateful.

Tonight though? Tonight a sista is about to consume copious amounts of alcohol amongst friends while enjoying my friends, Astari Nite. They’re having a video release party and I’m so there, dude.

In fact I’m getting ready and typing as my crimson nails dry. Hey…that could be a cool lyric.

It’s time for me to dance around in the water (what my mom calls a quick shower) and figure out what to do with the SuperFro.

WooHoo!

Off to get F*cked Up!

Convergence…In Crazytown.

What happens when you have:

A visit from the District,

Observations by your higher up,

A room full of ‘special’ children (in this case, special means undisciplined),

MONSTER PMS,

and

Multiple Tasks that You don’t Really Understand but are due ASAP?

In my case, I collapse in bed upon returning home and pass out.

Lucky for me, Empire came on tonight. I needed that escape from my reality.

Thank you, Lee Daniels.

I like the new Dallas/Dynasty/Knots Landing/Falcon Crest…but with black folks.

Pass the Popcorn, Bitches.
